Dean
of Students Office Award for Excellence in
the Greek Community
This award originates from the desire to reward Greek student organizations
that demonstrate:

the ability to collaborate
with campus units and with each other |
| • |
responsible relationships with campus units
and each other |
| • |
an ability to remain proactive in response
to crises |
| • |
a sense of integrity when faced with issues
and challenges experienced within the Greek
community |
| • |
a commitment to developing leadership and
enriching the university community |
| • |
a willingness to ask very difficult questions
of themselves and to take risks toward change |
Organizations nominated must
be in good standing, and have an overall GPA
equal to or higher than their governing council.
This is the only award in the
annual Greek Awards ceremony that the Dean of
Students Office selects. The organizations chosen
for the Dean of Students Office Award for Excellence
in the Greek Community have taken extra steps
in moving their organizations toward excellence.
The Greek organization(s) that receives this award receives an engraved award, and the engraved names
of recipients are displayed on a perpetual plaque
in the Dean of Students Office. Conference registration
is paid for the president of each organization
chosen for the award.
